On our way up to Colorado we stopped at Palo Duro Canyon to stretch our legs and refresh our road haze clouded minds.

We will be participating in a church plant in Denver so the last several weeks have been super busy as we have been packing for the move. The opportunity to get out into God’s creation was a welcome refreshment from sorting through all our belongings.

For the first time in our married life Stacie and I finally have all of our earthly belongings in one spot: the back of a U-Haul truck! But the front of the U-Haul isn’t the most comfortable ride so by the time we got to the park we felt rather travel weary.  We decided to take a 5.75 mile hike to loosen up all the kinks in our systems- and to see the Lighthouse formation in Palo Duro Canyon.

"Dad, that rock over there is, well it's just really big!"
“I love being out of my car seat and that rock over there is really big!”

Father and Son: each on a rock their own size.

Palo Duro Canyon did the trick: we were very refreshed and encouraged.

As we were hiking back out in the cool of the day, I was struck with the wonder of being a child of God enjoying the creation of God. We are truly blessed!
